The Challenge

Cloud has led the field in high-quality commercial audio systems for more than three decades.

They needed a website to allow their worldwide re-seller network to get quick and easy access to product information and specifications to allow them to serve their clients.

Cloud audio products are used by blue chip brands from the world of high street retail, international hotel chains, museums, entertainment venues, health and fitness centres. The Cloud website had to reflect the brand’s worldwide reputation for product reliability and performance.

With European distributors served from Sheffield and American ones served from Utah, the site had to support an international audience. Cloud approached Rare to develop a site that:

  • Was easy to maintain
  • Was simple and intuitive to navigate
  • Allowed technical resources to be found quickly
  • Directed enquiries to appropriate local resellers across the world

The Strategy

The website design is based around Cloud’s thirty-year heritage, with a logo and colour scheme that is little changed. A bespoke CMS was built to allow Cloud product managers to update technical specifications, technical documentation and associated products quickly and easily.

Product sets can be shared between the UK and USA website versions, with sales enquiries directed to an appropriate reseller. Resellers use the technical information to support their sales process, ensuring that their clients get the best audio equipment to match their specific requirements.

Rare has also built an interactive speaker placement tool that is used by installers to specify the correct number and type of speakers for a project, and to support them in their installation.

The Result

Cloud continues to perform strongly in its market sector and the website is continually evolved to support that growth. Rare also creates supporting marketing collateral for Cloud, including trade advertising programmes and an annual product brochure.
