The Challenge

To launch an e-commerce website in 12 weeks from initial discussion to processing the first sales. The online retail market for window blinds is aggressive with several established players such as Hilary’s and 247 Blinds. Our client’s business plan is to challenge the market leaders with a cost-led online store, trading on lowest price, excellent customer service and rapid delivery. The site retails over 100,000 product options and is integrated with the client’s order management system to enable real-time order processing into the production system.

The sales strategy is supported by a comprehensive, and highly flexible, digital marketing plan to drive sustained growth and deliver a profitable ROI.

The Strategy

Rare’s technical approach was to build an easily scalable site based on the Wordpress open source Content Management System (CMS) using the Woo Commerce e-commerce plugin. The technical strategy was underpinned by a research phase whereby we examined existing industry best practice and competitor analysis, undertook a user experience (UX) focused design stage and defined the digital marketing strategy.

The Result

After a successful launch of the initial website, several extensions have already been applied to support the client’s business growth and product range extensions

The digital marketing strategy is constantly refined and supports promotional activity as well as driving site traffic. Results highlights include:
